Software

Since diversifying from IBM mainframe database software distribution, BMS has developed various mobile handheld solutions for Psion handheld computers as early as 1988. Combined with its expertise in barcode technology, it has customized applications in both Auto ID and Mobile computing for many enterprises. Based on actual requirement from different enterprises, packaged software for PCs and handheld devices are now available for general distribution and deployment globally.

PC based packages supports multi-language screens which eliminates language barriers among management team and operators. Typically warehouse operators may operate in Simplified Chinese or Mexican while Management may operate in English or French or Traditional Chinese. Built in barcode label printing software and drivers for printers support barcode printing and reading onsite. PC packages available include Warehouse Management System, Document Tracking ( with a version for law firms), Fixed Assets Tracking , Library Management as well as Communication software for multiple ports for data synchronization between handheld computers and server.

Handheld computer based packages supports barcode printing, reading and bi-lingual support as well. Modules for Stock Handling (Stock Take, Scan and Pack, Stock In, Picking), Sales and Marketing ( Order taking, Payment collection, Market Intelligence), Mobile Point-Of-Sales ( handles Sales, deduct Inventory, Payment), Distribution (Van sales, Delivery, Payment) may be mixed and matched as required by customer. Current platforms are in Epoc for Psion and Symbian based mobile devices. Some modules are available for Pocket PC devices.

Communication between handheld devices and backend systems may be wireless using mobile phones ( via SMS or GPRS) or off-line.
